March 8th Meeting Postponed

Due to the impending winter storm, the March 8th meeting of York County ARES is being moved the the following Thursday, March 15th at it’s regular time and location. Stay tuned to this site and social media for possible skywarn activations. -W1WDW


The national Weather Service has upgraded the winter storm warning to a blizzard warning for counties in southern and western Maine. Skywarn spotters are requested to make snowfall, wind and damage reports to the NWS per normal operating procedures.

YCARES Securing From Level 1 Status

York County ARES will be standing down from level 1 alert status at 1800 today. Further damage and power outages are not expected. CMP has begun restoration across the area and most homes should be back online by Saturday night according to CMP representatives. CMP Outages Over 386,000

As of 5:15pm, Central Maine Power is reporting over 386,000 power outages in their service area. This number is slightly down from earlier when outages topped 400,000.
