The National Weather Service has requested the activation of Skywarn groups across the area in preparation for the upcoming winter storm. A Winter Storm Warning as well as a Blizzard Watch have been issued for the county. Snowfall estimates are forecast to be in the range of 12-24″ in our area with possibility for higher amounts due to blowing and drifting. YCARES members are urged to make necessary preparations to ensure go-kits are stocked and ready in the event of extended power outages or other needs. While no ARES activation is anticipated, it is a good idea to be prepared in the event that conditions are worse than forecast.
Members are asked to monitor 147.345MHz and DMR Region North during the event.
